Badge Requirements

Full participation in Be Prepared will tick off the following badge requirements

Emergency Aid Staged Activity Badge

Stage 1

Be Prepared covers all requirements of the Stage 1 activity badge:

  1. Understand and recognise dangers in the house and outside
  2. Know what to do at the scene of an accident
  3. Know how to open an airway
  4. Know how to treat minor cuts, scratches and grazes

Stage 2

Be Prepared covers all requirements of the Stage 2 activity badge:

  1. Know what to do at the scene of an accident
  2. Know how to get help from the emergency services
  3. Know how to clear an airway and place in the recovery position
  4. Know how to deal with minor bleeding
  5. Know how to deal with major bleeding
  6. Know how to deal with burns  and scalds

Stage 3

Be prepared covers some of the requirements of the Stage 3 activity badge.

  1. Know what to do at the scene of an accident
  2. Know when and how to contact the emergency services
  3. Be able to respond to the needs of an unconscious patient. Know how to open an airway, give CPR and how to place in the recovery position
  4. Know how to deal with major bleeding
  5. Know how to deal with burns and scalds

World Challenge

9. Take part in an activity that explores an international issue

Skills Challenge

5. Take part in at least 3 activities that require a number of problem solving skills

Teamwork Challenge

1. On at least three separate occasions, be part of a Scout team, where you work together to achieve a goal. (Will count as one occasion)

3. Take part in at least three teambuilding activities that you have not tried before.
